FAQs

Do you perform abortions?

No, we do not perform or refer for abortions, but that doesn’t mean should not schedule an appointment. The abortion method available to you differs depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy. We can help you determine how far along you are and explain to you the different methods of abortion along with your other options. In addition, your nurse can schedule you for a free ultrasound to determine the status and estimated gestational age of your pregnancy.

How early can your tests detect pregnancy?

Our FDA approved tests are 99.9% accurate 6-7 days after conception though this is different for every person. If you test negative at your first appointment but continue to have pregnancy symptoms, we recommend you come back for a retest.

How much do services cost?

All Raffa Clinic’s services are completely free.

What will my first appointment be like?

During your first appointment, you will meet with one of our nursing staff who will ask some questions to get to know you and begin thinking about resources she may be able to provide you with. You’ll then take a pregnancy test and meet again with the nurse to discuss your test result and further services we can offer. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member with you and he/she will be able to join you after your pregnancy test if you wish.

What should I bring to my appointment?

All we ask is that you bring a photo ID. All of our services are free so you won’t need any payments methods or insurance information.

I have older children. Can I bring them to my appointment?

We want to be able to give you our complete attention during your appointment and want you to be able to be honest and not distracted which is difficult when other children are present. However, while bringing your children to your appointment is not ideal, we understand that sometimes it’s hard to find childcare. If you’re able to bring someone else with you to watch your children, they are welcome to remain in our waiting room while you meet with our staff.

What does 'options counseling' mean?

We understand that not everyone intends to get pregnant. If you weren’t planning this, you may not know what to do next. Some women think their only option is abortion. Some don’t even know what abortion is. Our goal is to inform you about all of your options – parenting, adoption and abortion – and talk you through what you might be feeling. We won’t push you either way…we just want you to be empowered to make the best decision for you and your unborn child.

I just had my baby. Can you still help me with diapers and clothes?

Yes, our services are available throughout your pregnancy and until your child is 36 months old. You are welcome to begin taking classes at any time to obtain diapers, clothes, and many other items. Call us for more information.

My girlfriend is pregnant? What should I do?

You should make an appointment for the two of you to come in. We encourage the father of the baby to attend all appointments in order to be fully educated regarding the pregnancy.
